The FDFA advises against all travel to Sudan. The security situation is extremely unstable. The Swiss Embassy in Khartoum is temporarily closed. Thus, Switzerland has only limited or no possibilities to help in emergencies or to assist in leaving the country.

Switzerland will alleviate suffering while supporting resilience and recovery by linking humanitarian aid and development. This includes:

  • Combining emergency food assistance with resilience-building, with stronger climate- and disaster-resilient approaches, nutrition support, emergency livelihoods, and WASH improvements.
  • Supporting recovery through social cohesion, safer environments, and climate-resilient, productivity-enhancing technologies, including market-oriented production and skills training.
  • Expanding Cash and Voucher Assistance to improve efficiency, flexibility, dignity, and local market resilience.
